Rajasthan is where India's heritage-hotel inventory is deepest, which changes how the itinerary is built — the property is often the reason for the night, not just the bed. Jodhpur and Jaisalmer carry the fort-and-desert half, Udaipur the lakes and palace half, and Ranthambore can be folded in for tiger safari when the park is open. Distances are longer than the Golden Triangle, so the routing decision is usually road versus a domestic hop.

Is road transport or domestic air better between the cities?
Road keeps the circuit continuous and lets you use stops like Pushkar or Ranakpur, but Jaisalmer legs are long. Most balanced programs drive the Jaipur–Jodhpur–Udaipur side and use a domestic flight only where a full driving day would otherwise be lost.
